The Greene Turtle

This Frickle Chicks post is sponsored by Grandma and Grandpa, who were kind enough to take the Chicks out for a special lunch date at The Greene Turtle, that started with a round of fried picks for everyone!

Grandma and Grandpa got a great bargain on the meal. You shoulda seen the portion sizes, you wouldn't believe it.

The Greene Turtle is a typical chain sports bar, with more TVs than you can count and more merch than you ever thought a bar was capable of selling. There were like, 45 different tee-shirts on sale at the register. Madness.

Anyway, the ride to Long Island was long and food-less, so we were starving when we got to the restaurant. Imagine if you were lost in the desert with no food or water, on the brink of dying from dehydration. You had been drinking your own pee for days. And then, out of the sky a magical cloud appeared and rained down upon you the sweetest water you had ever tasted.

That was basically what happened. Except the rain was pickles and the desert was a Subaru Forrester.

There was nothing especially exceptional about these frickles. They were pre-frozen and fried on site, but there’s something to be said for knowing exactly what you are going to get. They were  super tasty, and exactly what we were craving.

Absolutely scrumptious, but there wasn’t any love put into these by the kitchen. Pre-packaged happiness. In a good way.
