Brazen Fox- White Plains

Long  time no see, our long lost frickle fans.  We know an update is long overdue, and we apologize for making you wait.  But fear no longer, here is our latest post about some damn fine frickles.

brazen fox

While strolling down Mamaroneck Ave. in White Plains, some outdoor tables set up with Heinz Ketchup and Sriracha sauce caught our eyes right away.  First delicious condiments, then seeing frickles on the menu, they didn’t have to try much harder to lure us in to their establishment.  Once inside we were lead to a table in the back, which was not too bad, except for the overwhelmingly loud music.  We enjoyed some ice cold margaritas served in mason jars, while we waited for our fried pickles.

frickles

Alas! Our Frickles have arrived! They were steamin’ hot and ready for our bellies! Or was it that our bellies were ready for them?

Texture:

Whole Pickle = 4

Whole Pickle = 4

They were yummy and crunchy, but not TOO crunchy.  They were thin and still a little soft, is crunchy and soft possible at the same time? I suppose today it is.

Serving Size:

Huge Ass Dill = 5 (highest)

Huge Ass Dill = 5 (highest)

Seemed to be close to 25 frickles? Is it even possible!? We were so stuffed we couldn’t even finish all of them ( I know, I know….)

Condiment Selection:

Stem

Pickle Stem = 1 (lowest)

I hate to say it, but the condiment was very unsatisfying.  Although the menu read horseradish and ranch, the 1 condiment served, tasted like a boring and bland ranch, nothing special.  For those who know us, also know we love our condiments, so were not very happy about this option. Luckily, we did manage to get our hands on some ketchup and sriracha sauce to make up for the sad ranch.

Wait Time:

Whole Pickle = 4

Whole Pickle = 4

Wait time was very short and we were pleasantly surprised when the fricks popped up at our table so quickly!

Service:

Pickle Spear = 3

Our waitress was…. mehhh.  She wasn’t very friendly, but also wasn’t rude. She didn’t do anything to impress us, but neither did she do anything to make us talk smack.  Just an overall meh experience.

Price:

Whole Pickle = 4

Whole Pickle = 4

$7.00, for 25 chips, was certainly a good price.  It was pretty average range for the frickles we have seen around, but we also got a lot more for our money at the fox.

Overall:

Whole Pickle = 4

Whole Pickle = 4

The frickles were definitly yummmy, but didn’t blow us out of the water.  They had a good texture, but were a bit too salty for both the frickle chicks, as well as the frickle guest that joined along for this visit.  Overall, we did enjoy our frickle experience and the frickles are definitely worth checking out and enjoying if you’re in the neighborhood, and enjoy a good crunchy bite.
